Signs of Spring

Spring started about a month early this year, with an extended warm spell. While there still remain two and a half feet of snow at Shalom (and a series of storms in the forecast as of this writing), the unseasonable warmth threatens to end the snow sports fun. Sad and exciting.

A bunch of friends have recently been in residence in local cabins and all wanted to go snowmobile riding. I was happy to tag along! The epic snowpack this year will certainly be remembered for quite some time. We were fortunate to go places that can seldom be visited this way. Joe, Art, Steven, and Bill: Thank you for your experience and leading these trips; without you I would not have had these opportunities. Our tracks will soon be only memories.

So, I've been busy not updating ShalomSeasons. I hope the slideshow below provides some hint of the outstanding backcountry around here. I've tried to make some sense of the order, and some of this scenery may seem redundant. But, trust that each place and each moment is unique and special to me.
