The Centennial State recognizes its admission to the union in 1876 on August 1 each year. Joyce and I celebrated Colorado Day with a hike on the Tilton Mountain Trail amidst wild flowers, wild peaks, and the wild green of a wetter than usual season. I recently read (and believe) that one's wilderness experience may be diminished by trying to express it in words - and by extension, photographs. I've chosen to challenge the rule somewhat with the images below, which appear without further justification.
